M-Opus LIVE

So M-Opus had her first live encounter last week! Drummer Mark had his birthday bash in The Castleknock Hotel, 150 people in attendance. On one hand, it was very nice to have our first performance of Travelling Man live in front of people whom we know - on the other, half the crowd were musicians, literally the best players in the country. This is a different type of professional pressure!

Well, it all went wonderfully. It had been a very long time since I performed challenging, involved material in front of a crowd; I couldn't predict what it would feel like. Would it be nerve-wracking? But I was relieved to find that it felt almost exactly like performing some cover, a normal, simple piece of music live, which I do many times every single week. It was like my body saying, "Nah, we don't get nervous doing this type of thing, we do it all the time, don't we?".

I say 'almost exactly', because it was WAY more fun - the incredible feeling of getting this stuff out there. We can't wait to do it again!
