Practice Makes Imperfect
We're practicing again today at drummer Mark Grist's Drumshed - his teaching HQ. Today I'm armed with odd bits of sound effects we need to trigger - lightning cracks, whistling orangutans and walking in the snow.
This really is a different band!
My biggest challenge as the keyboard player in this group is frequently switching between sounds in the middle of involved two hand performance - the 'playing the music' bit is less tricky!
Still getting very nice reviews (and a few kicks in the arse!) from websites and magazines around the world. Very happy to say that the specific dating of the album 1975 has really engaged people. The idea seems to add an extra interaction for listeners, something they can have fun with, considering and comparing music in a different way.
